Inspired by Avedon's In The American West these portraits were taken at a makeshift outdoor studio at Dungeness in Kent. They form part of an ongoing project recording life on Romney Marsh. Originally commissioned for an advertising campaign, this picture was inspired by the famous Mainbocher Corset photographed by 20th century master photographer Horst P Horst whose original photograph is currently on show at the V&A as part of an excellent retrospective of his work. Also included in the exhibition are many of his 90+ covers for Vogue...!
